Explosion-proof TBM was used for pipe jacking work to demolish the existing pipe (φ1800 mm NS pipe) 8.46 m.
Initially, there were concerns about the steel collar of the jacking pipe, the entanglement of the cutter head such as the rebar, and damage to the pinch valve, but it passed without any problems. After arriving, we inspected the cutter head, pinch valve, etc., but there was no noticeable damage.
I think we have taken the first step in promoting the renovation in the future by removing the existing pipes and constructing new pipe by the pipe jacking method.
